Abstract
There has been little reported concerning hemangiomas of the nasal region. Etiology is undecided and the regions are classified as capillary, cavernous or mixed, according to their pathologic picture regarding vessel size. Surgical excision is the best among various methods of treatment.
Recently, the authors have experienced a case of capillary hemangioma originating from right nasal cavity. The 32-year-old male patient has complained of recurrent epistaxis and nasal obstruction with mild headache for a year. Examination exhibited a large dark-red, polyp-like mass in the middle-meatus of right nasal cavity. The mass was excised through an intranasal approach accompanied by.cauterization by meansof Zidde Drg.Ice Apparatus. Postoperative pathologic diagnosis was confirmed to be capilliary hemongioma.
